Yes. Our interstate authority packages include the five essential permits required to obtain your Motor Carrier Authority. The USDOT number and MC number are two of those five. You will also receive your Motor Carrier Authority Certificate. Insurance is the final item needed to activate your authority with FMCSA.
No. You can begin your trucking authority package application — including both intrastate authority packages and interstate authority packages — without owning a truck. However, you will need a truck or a leased owner-operator to finalize your insurance and certain state registrations.
Your USDOT and MC Number are processed in one business day. FMCSA enforces a 21-day waiting period for all new authority applicants. That’s about 5 weeks — though some states, like California, can take longer. During this time, we recommend preparing to put a truck on the road within 30–60 days. Intrastate authority packages are typically processed much faster.
Once your permits have been processed there are no refunds. Refunds can only happen if you cancel prior to the permits being processed. We normally process permits within 24 hours.
You can, however it is not recommended. If the permits have to be updated it will cause delay in your process.

Yes, there are plenty of brokers that will except new authorities. Even the larger companies only require 3 months to apply with them. Take a look at convoy, JB Hunt, and try to find a dispatch companies to help you get started. They are a really good source for new motor carriers.
Dispatchers are a great way to start to find brokers. They can help you navigate load boards to help you find brokers. If you can navigate yourself online. Linkedin, FB, and Google is a great source to find brokers.
Word of mouth is one great way to start. Truckers to truckers. If you want to move fast. Indeed.com is a great resource to find and hire drivers. A carrier packet is a set of paperwork that gets combined with an application to run loads for a broker. Its common in the industry and normally is the broker applicaiton, your W9, copy of voided check, Cover page (recommended) Copy of Drivers License, and your motor carrier certificate.
